Our standards

Translations that stay close to the line

Each translation keeps literal phrasing where it helps the reader, and steps into cultural nuance in Hindi and English where a word carries more than its dictionary sense. Notes stay short, so the verse remains the focus.

Typography comes first: high-contrast type, calibrated line spacing, and a consistent rhythm between the Punjabi original and each translation, so every version reads cleanly on a phone screen.

How each song is prepared

Three review stages

01

Transcribe the Punjabi

The original lyrics are transcribed line by line, then checked against the song so each verse keeps its own order and wording.

02

Translate to Hindi

The Hindi version follows the literal sense first, then adjusts phrasing so the meaning of each line stays clear to a Hindi reader.

03

Shape the English verse

The English translation is aligned to the same lines, so readers can move between the three versions without losing their place.
